Practicing (Open)

"Comfrey, that is for aching joints," Snowpaw mewed then paused, "no it's not! It's for broken bones!"she gave a small whine and turned away from the herbs, '"Maybe I've been practicing too long. I need a break."she mewed, looking around and wondering what to do with herself.

[Twilight]

Moonshadow trotted into the medicine cat's den. She was tired of sitting around in camp, and decided to spend some time with her friend. "Hello Snowpaw. Do you want to go hunting with me, or are you busy?" Moonshadow asked.

^{Snowpaw looked up and purred, "Hey Moonshadow," she looked around, "Sure, I could do with some exercise, and I can get some more herbs while we're out!" she mewed, standing up and shaking her pelt.}

[Twilight]

Moonshadow and Snowpaw padded out of the crevice and into the forest. "Snowpaw," Moonshadow meowed "Do you like being a medicine cat apprentice?"

^{Snowpaw nodded, "Yeh, I've always wanted to be it, ever since my mum..." she trailed off, sniffing the air for hints of herbs nearby.}

[Twilight]

Moonshadow sniffed the air also. Mouse! Moonshadow bent down into a hunter's crouch, sprung in the air, and landed right on the mouse, sqiushing it. The young warrior picked up her prey and found a nice patch of dirt to bury it in for later.

^{Snowpaw smiled, "Well done," she mewed to the she-cat, lowering her body to pull some burdock roots out of the ground.}

[Twilight]

Moonshadow heard the leaves rustle behind her. A vole darted out from the ferns. Moonshadow killed it with a swift bite in the neck. "There's so much prey today! I wonder if something happened." Moonshadow commented.

^{Snowpaw nodded, a yawn escaping her jaws, she hadn't been getting much sleep recently. "So, hows life as a warrior?" she asked her friend, sitting down and yawning again.}

[Twilight]

"Hey look! You missed some yarrow!" Moonshadow sniffed at the herb. A thrush flew out of the plant, chirping as it hopped into a tree. "I swear, something HAD to happen here! Snowpaw, can you handle this one?!"

^{Snowpaw nodded, she jumped forward, her tiny paws grabbing hold of the bird, she killed it quickly, although the bird gave a fight. For a medicine cat apprentice, she was very good at hunting. She smiled at Moonshadow, "Yeh, that's one of the hings I love about being the medicine appertnice. I can save cats lives!"}

[Twilight]

Moonshadow picked the yarrow. As she saw Snowpaw kill the trush, she mewed, "Nicely done for you too!"

^{Snowpaw purred, "Thanks, oh you can tell thats yarrow!" she mewed, slightly suprised.}

"Well, doesn't everyone know that?" Moonshadow had scented it almost at once. Why was Snowpaw surprised?

^{Snowpaw shrugged, "I Don't know," she mewed turned and sniffing the ground, "I wonder why there's so much prey around today."}

[Twilight]

"Let's try to find some clues!" Moonshadow was exited to find out something, maybe even something big as a warrior!

^{Snowpaw nodded, jumping onto a rock and looking around, hoping to see something.}

[Twilight]

A soft mew sounded in the trees. "What's that!?" Moonshadow said, in a curious tone. The voice rang through the forest again. "Come on!! Let's go check it out!" Moonshadow who was now standing on top of the rock, next to Snowpaw, jumped down and bounded into the shadows. A young kitten was laying on the ground, wailing loudly. "What's wrong?" Moonshadow asked the kitten.

^{Snowpaw jumped down after Moonshadow, landing next to the kit. She looked at Moonshadow, her eyes wide with panic (and some excitement.) She let her tail fall on the kit, hoping her white bushy tail would keep it warm."Are you ok?" she asked, shadowing Moonshadows question.}

[Twilight]

The kit answered by mewling again. "Let's take her back to camp. Maybe one of the queens will want to nurse her." Moonshadow picked up the kit in her jaws and headed toward camp. She didn't like the stares of other cats inthe clearing.

^{Snowpaw nodded with uncertainty, "I don't know if they will, Moonshadow." She mewed, it might be to suspicious. Nevertheless, she carried on, padding beside her friend into the clearing.}

[Twilight]

"Minkstar, we found this lost kitten in the forest while we were hunting." The kit squirmed around in Moonshadow's jaws. "Let me down!" the kit yowled. Moonshadow dropped the striped kit. She looked up at Minkstar, kneeding the ground with her claws. "I'm Stripes. I lost my mother when a fox attacked me and my sister. I ran away as far as I could, but then I bumped my head on this giant rock, and... and..." The wide-eyd kit fainted. Moonshadow stared at the small cat. "Minkstar, we need to get her to a queen fast!" She mewled.

MinkStar gracefully, but quickly, swooped in in almost a bird-like fashion, scopped up to kitten, and trotted off to the Nursery. After shoving the kit to the nearest nursing queen, she called loudly "SnowPaw!"

[Twilight]

Moonshadow followed Minkstar over to the nursery. She looked at the small kit, and at Snowpaw, wondered where it came from. She bent down and sniffed the kit's fur. Moonshadow was surprised when she picked up a SpectrumClan scent. But there was something else, some familiar scent deep in there also.
