The Orphan Kits

It was shortly after DeathStroke and his minions had been driven out. LaceFur had found out, after DeathStroke was already gone, that she was going to have his kits.
The white queen sighed; her luck sucked.
They were due any day now, and the medicine cat, TarpenLeaf, was forcing her to stay in the nursery.

She felt a sudden pain in her belly and knew it was time for her kits to come. She calmly called TarpenLeaf in, but her confidence vanished as a painful spasm made her entire body shudder.
It seemed to take forever for her kits to come. Two healthy kits came, but the last didnt come out. LaceFur felt her energy and stamina running out. The medicine cat looked worried and kept asking her to eat herbs that she didnt have the energy to eat.
By midnight, LaceFur and the last unborn kit were dead.
The two survivors, SquirrelKit and LeafKit, were in a fuzzy bundle at the medicine cat's paws.


From across the camp, IcedPaw had been watching. She couldnt say she was sad LaceFur had died. She'd always hated LaceFur, DeathStroke's little stooge...
But the poor kits, left all alone in the world. If IcedPaw was a queen, she would have taken them in. But she wasnt one. She wondered which of the queens would find herself taking care of an extra two kits...

TarpenLeaf, hung his head low. He had failed. He licked Lacefur's cheek, "I'm sorry." He meowed then looked at the two scrapes of fur, the mewled and mewled. He figured they could sense that something wasn't right.

He picked the two kits up and set them beside EmotionalEyes. "Please?"TarpenLeaf meowed, his eyes downcast and weary.

EmotionalEyes looked at the two little kits, and the one that laid beside her. She met the meddies eyes, "Fine." She meowed and began licking up the two little kits.

Tarpenleaf dipped his head, then slunk out of the nursery, his tail dragging behind him.

((You could have named her EmotionCloud. I dont really like EmotionalEyes...
Or CloudEmotion. You could switch it around for the sake of a good name.

And wait, EmotionPaw has kits??))

((Hmm... So CloudEmotion's been raped twice now?? First by Strife and now by old grandpa DeathStroke... let's hope for her sanity that ShiverPaw doesnt like it rough.
