Wolfmoon trotted to the place she knew well. The place where LionMane, EndlessSteps and her would always be when they were young apprentices. She missed those days but most of all she missed LionManes friendship. Ever since she became EndlessSteps mate he ignored her. Wolfmoon had so much she wanted to tell him. She hadn't seen her mate in a couple of moons and was beginning to think that he is dead. Sighing Wolfmoon sat down and curled her tail around her paws and looked up to the stars where Snowstar, her mother and father was. "I wish you were still here Snowstar. Everything has gone completely crazy in the clan since you died. Mother I wish I could hear your voice like I used to." Wolfmoon sniffed as a tear began its journey down her white face. "I don't know what to do anymore." she mewed still looking to the stars.

"I know, everything used to be so much easier when we were young." Came a voice from behind her as a ginger tom leaped down a white rock, slippery because it was covered in snow. The deputy studied her a moment, unsure if she wanted him to approach or not. After becoming deputy, LionMane had become such a gentleman.(or cat) "Are you okay?" He asked, feeling as if he was young again, wanting to become useful and comfort another. Now it was his old friend, which he longed for the comfort in again.

Wolfmoon jumped. "Oh, its you LionMane." she meowed with relief. "I wish I was alright. I feel guilty about hurting you when I picked EndlessSteps instead of you. I'm so sorry I didn't realize how much you loved me until I felt like it was to late." Wolfmoon mewed n a gentle tone. "I don't know what to do anymore." she mewed looking to her paws. Finnally beng able to talk to LionMane alone made her feel a lot better.

"It's okay, WolfMoon." Meowed the ginger tom, shaking out his thick fur. "I just didn't understand then that you loved him." LionMane meowed, pausing for a moment before meowing, "And just follow your heart, it knows what to do."

"Well I think my heart lies with you." she mewed gazing at him with loving eyes. "EndlessSteps did need me but only for a friend not a mate. Besides I haven't seen him around at all. He hasn't talked to me in about a moon." she mewed while her face hardened showing a little bit of anger.

LionMane blinked in surprise. Was he sure if he wanted to go down this road again? Last time I did it ended in hurt and pain and sadness. Do I want to do that all over again? He thought to himself. LionMane just shrugged, as if he had guessed that would happen all along. EndlessSteps becoming... him again. "That happens... I guess." He meowed, still feeling a bit of shock.

Wolfmoon sighed. "I hope he does. I miss him. I know loyalty is important but he can't even look at me anymore." she mewed seconds away from tears.

"What do you mean?" LionMane asked, a bit confused what she meant by He can't look at me anymore. "I know that trying to say that EndlessSteps is important in your life is weird coming from me, since I went through so much with that knowledge, but he truly is." He meowed, hoping she didn't see the pain that flashed in his eyes for only half a second.

Wolfmoon sighed. "Yes he was important to me, but now all he thinks about his path. We had fights before he left. Thats why I am in such terrible condition." the she-cat mewed almost sounding like a kit.

LionMane sighed, not liking seeing her like this. He layed his tail on her shoulder. "He's always been like that. But he was the path you choose, and it's surprising you want to change it without much thought."

"Your kidding right? I have spent the whole time he has been gone thinking about my choices. I don't think Riverkit or her siblings would like it if I became someone elses mate though. I just hope he comes home soon." Wolfmoon sniffed.

LionMane nodded. "Your kits are great kits, and I'm sure they'll welcome him when he comes home." Though, in LionMane's mind he highly doubt, and almost knew, EndlessSteps wouldn't be coming home.
