A young black tom walked silently through the shadows, he was invisible if it was not for the sound of his paw steps, he sat down and smelt the air, he smelled another cat and soon saw a shadowy figure walking down the ally towards him. He did not reconize the cat, he watched cautiously as the cat walked closer. The cat looked like nothing but a shadow in the darkeness.

The cat was a brown tabby she-cat with white paws and a build that included both VampireBat and Death familiy lines. Xena was moving rather quickly down the shadowy alleys this night. She had several fresh wounds, a couple rather deep, and she moved very cautiously. She kept glancing over her shoulder back the way she had come in an almost paranoid-like way. Xena noticed Defiance a good while ago but ignored him until she was closer. Now she ewas coming up on the tom and was paying more attention to him... wondering if he was going to attack her. After all Xena clearly smelled of the Cavern Rogues which in most cases were enemies of the Alley rogues... not always though.

Defiance, noticed the cat was Xena once she got closer, he saw the wounds blankly. "Xena" He greeted his voice emotionless like usual. His golden eyes glimmered in the moonlight that cast shadows into the ally like a painting. Everything was strange at night, nothing familiar.

Xena narrowed her chocolate brown eyes at the dark tom. She didn't recognize him... she hadn't ever seen him before so how would he know her name? Xena knew she wasn't famous or anything so there would be no way that the average cat knew who she ewas on sight.... Xena finally decided that this tom must belong to one of the spy groups that the alley rogues were known for.... More or less the Cavern Rogues had the assassins while the Alley Rogues had the spies... "It looks like you have an advantage for I don't know your name" She commented in a rather cold tone... she wasn't in the best of moods right now...

Defiance nodded, it was one advantage he had with a sister who was a spy. He knew most cats thanks to her random babbling about random cats, "Yes well that's good for me then aint it?" Defiance meowed his eye brows raised. HE noticed that she was not in the greatest of moods at the moment, he figured it was because of the wounds... his eyes flickered back up to Xena's face solemly.

Xena rolled her eyes "That would be why I said what I did a moment ago" She replied before continueing past him, knocking him slightly to the side. Xena turned back as if she forgot to say something "So Blackie you going to give me your real name or shall I just burn into my brain that your name is Blackie?"

Defiance smirked slightly before he was shoved to the side, "Got a problem with running into things I see" Defance meowed sarcastically, he shook his head which made a necklace that was dangling around his neak jingle slightly. It was a silver necklace with a dragon pendant. "No I prefere If you would call me Defiance" Defiance meowed quickly.

Her brown eyes looked Defiance over for a moment "The name fits you" She commented studying him a bit closer... He almost had some of the same features that reminded Xena of her half-sister Shade.... And then even more like that she-cat that Shade killed... the one with purple eyes... what had she said about that she-cat? The mate of her cousin maybe... "How ironic" She mewed allowed chuckling to herself.

Defiance studied her not really getting what was so 'ironic', he flicked an ear in wonder before he let his curiousity in. "Ironic?" Definace asked his voice deep with wonder, as he looked at Xena with golden eyes. He flicked his tail impatiently as he allowed his eyes to look to the ground.

"Eh... nothing. It might cause I conflict that I really don't feel like getting into right now, but tell me are or were your parents in NatureClan before?" She asked curiously... Xena didn't really know whether he would actually tell her or not... If he didn't.. well, he would just be left wondering what this chat was about while Xena could get the information from Shade herself... whom was actually waiting for her in NatureClan now... even more irony

He sighed and gave in.
"Yes" he answered shortly, his voice a mumble. He did not lift his eyes from the dirt.

Xena nodded now quite positive in what she'd pieced together "Thought so" Was all she said though. She smiled and then decided that she thought this tom was pretty cool and she might be able to actually finish a conversation with someone which was unusual for her. "Do you know a she-cat named Shade?"

Defiance eyes looked up at her when she mentioned Shade, "Yeah I know her, Assassin right?" Defiance meowed making sure they were both talking about the same cat here. He guessed that they were since not many cats had the name Shade. Defiance flicked his ears.

"Correct, former NatureClanner, dark silver tabby... blue eyes also known as ShadedMoon by some" Xena described quickly now certain that they were speaking of the same Shade. "Yeah, she's my half-sister... I'm going to go meet her now, currently she's in NatureClan temporarily"

Defiance took in the information, it sounded like the Shade he knew about. "Oh, may I ask why? or is that to personal?" Definace meowed. He wondered why Shade would return to Natureclan. He was sure she did not like being in a clan more then the rogues.

Xena shrugged "It's not a secret any longer by any means. Spotty came back and apologized for leaving her to go back to NatureClan. Then Spotty practically pleaded with her to help save the prisoners and then come back to NatureClan to help train the cats better so they might have a chance against the Shadowed Doom.... So of course it being Spotty Shade agreed so we just got seperated after the attack for saving the prisoners... I assume Shade and my brother are in NatureClan now and I'll meet them there..." She explained not seeing any harm in telling Defiance. If he hadn't heard about the escape of the prisoners yet then he would have real soon... word was already spreading. That fight was also where she got the few wounds on her.

Defiance nodded understanding now, "Oh" Defiance meowed his voice understanding too. "Well that's why you seemed like you were in a hurry" Defiance mumbled now. He flicked his long black tail, finding the news rather intresting. He figured it somthing was to come up about that.

(Well, Shade is related to them on her mothers side so since Xena is related to Shade by their father then no they are not related)
"Yeah... I'm half expecting someone to be following me and then I don't know if Shade saw me run off the other way or not... soooo that could be potentially disasterous if she didn't and Bandit couldn't convince her to wait..." Xena meowed now in a much nicer tone... she almost seemed worried but then just shrugged it off

"Oh I see, your lucky I did not attack you, cavern rogue." Defiance meowed slowly but he showed no sign of aggression or that that was supposed to be a threat. His eyes remained unemotional, unevolved. He was really a easy cat to be around when he was not being anti social or a pessimist with the I will kill everything attitude.

"Besides, its quicker and quieter to just cut through the alley rogues then to go into the In-between and then to NatureClan" She added

"Maybe I'm right about what exactly?" she asked... She'd answered several questions in the past few moments and didn't know which one he was refering to at this time. Her light brown eyes studied him a moment "Are you always this... uhh... emotionless I guess" She asked not exactly finding the right word to describe Defiance....

"The quicker part" Defiance meowed quickly, then looked away from her once again as she tried to describe him, he was not always like this. He was not like this to his sister, when he was with his sister, he was just angry easily, but not emotionless. Now he could not be angry with Xena, "No not always" Defiance meowed trying to put emotion on his face, he was sure it just turned out like a bleak smile.

Xena blinked a couple times neither believing him or really disbelieving him... "Why? From what I can tell this is about normal behavior except with a couple cats at my guess.... most likely there is a reason... Of course if its personal feel free to tell me to keep to my own business" She meowed seriously and then chuckling slightly at the end. Xena herself had her own story on why she tried to act tough and sorta mean most of the time, which usually costed her any friendships.... The only cats that could actually stand her was Bandit, Shade and Spotty.

"Well.." Defiance meowed with a sigh, he was not really a tom who liked to share emotions.... not many did. "I guess just family problems" Definace meowed refering to how his mother died and his father was in NC, he never really got to see him. He knew his sister did not really care for Narrowriver so things we're all confusing. He did not know how to feel, he felt that being close to Narrowriver was a crime. Maybe his father was the cause of his mothers death...
