Moving Into the Nursery

MinnowStep tentively pocked her head into the nursery. Her belly was round with kits and it was time for her to move out of the warriors den. She had no desire to leave her nice soft nest between SaltyCreek and SplashFoot, but it was obvious she had too.
The tan she-cat, soon to be a queen, scrapped together a next out of unused materials in the nursery. She settled into it to try it out. It was almost shockingly soft, reminding her of foggy days curled up next to her mother in the CelestialClan nursery. But that was long ago. MinnowStep looked up when she heard a noise, either coming from outside or someone in the nursery, whom she had thought to be all asleep. (Anyone)

FairyDance grinned "Hey sis!" she greeted her sister in law. At Least FairyDance wasn't the only queen.... she smiled as NewPaw brought in prey for the queens.

"Oh Minnowstep, are you moving into the nursery? I'll get you something too." NewPaw slid out past MinnowStep for more prey.

MinnowStep nodded and smiled. "Thank you, NewPaw." She turned to FairyDance, who, in her opinion, seemed small to be having kits. "Hey. You know, SplashFoot wont stop going on about being a father." MinnowStep rolled her eyes. "WilyWolf said that you should hurry up and have your kits so SplashFoot will shut up."

StarDust though blind mewed, "Hey Congrats MinnowStep. SplashFoot is driving everyone crazy." He smiled.

LossDream smiled at MinnowStep. "You will make a great mother MinnowStep as will you FairyDance." she mewed.

Mistedmorning laughed at FairyDance's scowl. "as if WilyWolf himself isn't excited about being a father.." she snorted. "Hypocritical old grump." she sighed with happiness thinking about her mate, who really wasn't that old.

"Hmmmm I'll go find him.. and tell him to shut his mouth then, he is going to make himself the clan outcast, or worse! get stuck sleeping int eh mud.." she shivered a the thought. "Besides, he has like.. another three days to wait, he can be patient!" FairyDance grinned, not even actually getting up.

NewPaw returned with more prey, dropping a toad at MistedMorning's paws, and a water fowl at MinnowSteps. "I would love to be a queen someday..." she said tail swishing, the little calico sat down looking at all of them a faint grin on her face in wonder.

MinnowStep smiled. "Has WilyWolf always been a grump?" she turned to ask MistedMorning. "Since I've been in BogClan he's always been like that." Then she turned to NewPaw. "I'm sure there's a tom out there for out somewhere."

"Pretty much, though he used to be a meaner more playful grump.." she said with a grin. eating her toad.

FairyDance giggled "Has SplashFoot always been so hyper? or is it just me?" she asked after eating her toad.

BlackAbyss looked up from her spot curled in the corner. "Wow, are you guys always such Chatty Cathie's? or is it just to annoy me and wake up my kits?" Toadkit opened his bright green eyes and blinked fromt eh depths of his mother's black fur.

"It's just you, FairyDance." MinnowStep meowed, grinning, before looking to BlackAbyss. "Sorry, BlackAbyss. We didn't mean to wake the kits." MinnowStep smiled and offered ToadKit a small wave of hello with her tail.

ToadKit scrambled out and towards the queens, "Hello! naww I was awake already... Mama is just always grumpy." he teased with a roll of his eyes. "Are you having kits? cool, I'm becoming an apprentice tomorrow! then I can go slay all the toads in the world!" he launched at a dustbunny ripping it to shreds with long claws.

MinnowStep watched little ToadKit's antics with amused eyes. "Maybe you'll grow up to mentor one of our kits." she suggested to the small tom.

Toadkit grinned "That would be fun! hey! Cougarkit1 wake up!! let's go bother Daddy!" he called to his sibling in the depths of the nursery.
