The dark, cruel masked cat chuckled as he prodded the small red kit. At first the kit just cowered. But rage form losing his mother and sister, his home, everything in his life surged forward until he would not take the cat's teasing anymore. The next prod the cat sent was met with tiny claws riping into his paw. Fracture cursed, and pounded and blow into the little kits head. "Think your tough, do you, kid?" he growled darkly in the small tom's face. The red kit closed his eyes tightly and tensed himself, ready for the teeth he expected in his throat, but was only grabbed by the scruff and lifted in the air. "Hey guys." Fracture called out. "Looky here at what I found." (Any other Dog)

Blue eyes glinted from the shadows, then appeared. "He's such a sweetie," Sayuri gushed.
"She-cats..." another voice sighed, sounding annoyed. A scary dark tom, decorated with chains and piercings and a couple unnatural colored-stripes, jumped down a roof. Havok yawned. "What do we do with Tomato here?" he asked Fracture, mocking the kit's red pelt.
"Nothing too harsh. He's just a kit," Sayuri quickly put in. She was barely visible in the darkness because of her black pelt, so only her vivid eyes stood out.

Fracture shrugged. "Maybe we could skin it. You don't see a color like that every day." He suggested with the red kit swayed from his jaws. The kit made a whimper, but Fracture ignored it. Oh how cruel it was to listen as other cat's talked about how to kill you.

Sayuri batted Fracture's ears, and attempted at snatching the kit away. "Don't," she said sternly. "Maybe, if we train him very hard, he could become a powerful Dog among us."
Havok snickered. "I say we skin him, like you suggested, and then throw salt over him. Ya know, major torture. Then we burn him alive," he said.
The black she-cat growled. "No," she said, showing her fangs. She was tiny and looked delicate, but every Dog knew that Sayuri was a great fighter. She had plenty of nasty tricks, and she was incredibly agile.

"Keep your fur on, Sayuri." Fracture grumbled, swining the little red kit away from her grasp, but plopping the small tom on the ground. He placed a hugely large paw on the tom's tail so he couldn;t try to get away. The Dog looked the kit over once, then snickered. "He wouldn't be able to train for squat. A waste of time." But Fracture didn't want to get in a fight with Sayuri. Elva would be displeased, even though brawls broke out amongst the Dogs ever day. Thinking, Fracture smirked. "Fine. We'll train him, Sayuri. But when Tomato fails, we get to skin him and hang his pelt on the alley wall. Deal?"

She thought for an instant. Then grinned. "Deal!" she mewed. She eyed the kit, smiling. "Don't fail now," she sang, very pleased. Sayuri was absolutely sure this kit was going to turn out in a very good Dog.
Havok rolled his eyes in disbelief at Fracture. "I call the fur," he said, before leaving.
"What's your name? Unless you like Tomato. Personally, I don't like that name. Those toms get mean ideas, don't they?" the she-cat mewed, looking at the red kit with wide eyes. She looked like she was psycho or something...

"No, I get the fur! You can have to tail." Fracture protested to Havok.
The red tom's eyes widened. Sayuri frightened him some. But she seemed the nicest out of the group. The only one that didn't want to kill him and take his pelt. "My name is...Tommy."

"Then I also call his fangs! They would make a pretty necklace to sell," Havok yelled back, quite far away now.
Sayuri nodded. "Tommy Tomato. Your new Dog name! I'm Sayuri Bat. My mate is VampireBat," she meowed proudly. Of course VampireBat had many other mates, but still... "And that's Fracture the Scary One. Over there is Havok Creep."

Tommy glanced up at the cat that held his tail, Fracture, the she-cat had told him. "Hey." Fracture hissed back down at Tommy, revealing large white teeth that made Tommy shudder. Fracture released the red kit's tail. "Oh and Tomato, if you even try to run, we WILL hunt you down. So don't even try." Fracture then trotted off after Havok, loping a little to catch up.

Sayuri didn't say anything. It was true. "I guess that means you better stick and around and do what you're told," she said, forcing a purr. "So, you're from this day on the Best-Dog-in-Training! Call me crazy, but I have the feeling that, one day, you will likely be our next Dog' leader."

Tommy slowly stood to his paws as Fracture walked off and looked up to Sayuri. He was sore all over from Fracture's torturous jabs and his neck was hurting from being held so long. "Will they really skin me?" he asked. He felt as though he knew these cats. They were the cats Mother had warned them of, that wanted to hurt them. Mother had been right. But now, here was Tommy, forced to train as one of the or die.

Sayuri they didn't anything. She just looked at the kit with a serious and kind of freaky expression. Yes, they really would skin him if he failed or ran off. It was clear in her eyes.

Tommy took a deep breath. "I guess I shouldn't fail then.." he meowed softly in almost a whisper. Sayuri talked about him becoming leader, but he was sure she just wasn't all there, if you know what I mean.. Regardless, she meant well. Tommy's stomach growled as he contemplated on what to say next.

Sayuri nearly jumped from the growling sound. Then she realized it was Tommy's stomach. "Oh, you're hungry!" she mewed, as if that were surprising. "Um... Do you like rat? Maybe there's a mouse..." Before the red kit could say anything, she rushed away. She came back shortly afterward, a fat mouse in her jaws. It was still alive... She dropped it and held with on paw over it's tail, the same way Fracture had done with Tommy. "Here," she mewed. "Kill it." She smiled encouragingly.

Tommy looked at Sayuri, quite unsure. The mouse was desperately trying to escape, but it did make him hungry. Still..he didn't know what he was supposed to do. So he asked. "How?"

She shook her head. "Tommy Tomato, this is a test. Kill it," she said. "I am not going to help you for this one. Soon, you will be killing cats. You need to know how to take one's life away." It was so tempting for her to whisper at him to bite the back of the mouse's neck. But she shouldn't. And she wouldn't.

Tommy was still unsure. So he poked the mouse. It squealed and scrabbled at the ground. After what seemed like ages, Tommy took an unsheathed paw and placed it on the mouses neck. With one last guilty and hesitant look at Sayuri..SLICE!

Sayuri winced as the mouse gave a painful shriek, then died shortly afterward from loss of blood. "Um... that was good. Painful, but good. Well, you pass with flying colors, since we Dogs usually have to torture our victims before killing them. Just be less hesitant next time." She gave Tommy the fat mouse. "Nice kill for you first time," she praised, smiling again. "It's all yours!"

Tommy winced, feeling as though he had done it wrong. But it was dead now, so he might as well eat it. And he was[/i] hungry.. It only tooka Tommy a few short moments to finished off the mouse. He eat to rest of it first, and, strangely, ate the tail last. Just a habit of his.

The she-cat raised her brows. "You must've been hungry," she noticed with a nod. She flicked her tail and sat down. "Relax, now. You look more scared than that mouse was. You're perfectly secure as long you stay strong, Tommy. So, tell me about your history, would you? How did a kit like you ended up in this dump?"

Tommy stifled a burp, and sat in front of Sayuri. He sighed. "Well, before this, I had the perfect life..Mother, my sister, and me lived in this old abadonned barn thing. It was cozy. We lived fine until a few days ago. These...things attacked. I dunno what they were. Big with huge path and teeth. And they made this weird, gruff sound." Tommy imitated the bark as best he could. "And..well..me and my sister escaped. Mother dropped us out a window. But then one of those things attacked us and..I don't think I'll ever see my sister again."

"Those are dogs. Not Dogs, but dogs. Stupid canines that think they're better than us cats. There had been a pack that formed itself close to here. We're probably going to act as defenders, instead of fugitives, so it's bond to be interesting. Once we could trust you, Tommy, and you serve us well, you could go out and search for that sister of yours."

Tommy's ears shot up. "Really?" The red tom would give anything to find his sister again. She was all he had left in this world.

"Uh-huh. But you will need to work hard. You will need to win our confidence. Maybe, if the Dogs trust you and like you, we'd even help you. But this will take a long time. More likely when you're older, stronger. A great fighter. A real street cat and gypsy rebel," Sayuri meowed, her eyes shining. She liked the affect the image of finding his sister again seemed to give him determination and strength.

Tommy listened closely to Sayuri now. He had a new, very important reason now, to keep fighting, keep surviving. If he could see his sister again.. It would mean the world to him. So Tommy nodded. Personally, he didn't like the prospect of hurting, killing even, cats. But he would for his sister. "When do we start?"
