Bailey padded down the street to the ranch. She jumped up on to a fence post and looked around. This was where she had been last time she was with Steel. She sighed at the thought of her former mate. She looked at the setting sun and a memories came to her mind. Once a gain she was with Steel in the forest of love the day that they met. She saw the pool where they had realized that they loved each other when they looked in the the water. She then was laying on the porch of her twolegs nest with steel looking at her with a smile and her new kits curled at her side. Then it was gone with a flash she was back at the ranch.

A steel grey tom yawned, his pure white teeth flashing in the sunlight catching it's rays as he woke up from a short nap in a tall tree, he blinked a few times eyes still adjusting to the rays that were in his eyes. He sat up on his tree branch looking up at the blue sky; it was a very clear day, it was mild outside and was not to hot or to cold. Steel looked down at the grass below, then his eyes flickred over to Bailey, he almost jumped out of the tree right then. He had not been expecting to see her anytime soon. He jumped down a branch and then another his rock hard muscle helping him jump far, he landed sturdily on the ground. "Hey," He meowed pausing hoping he had not frightened her.

Bailey jumped a little. "Hello Steel,"she mewed "Nice to see you." She looked at her former mate and smiled. She needed some one to talk to. She had been lonly the past few days and she needed to tell Steel about what Holly had said about Sam and Leaf.

"It's good to see you too," Steel meowed his eyes scanning her face to try and see what she was thinking. "How have you been?" He meowed with a smile at her then turned his eyes to look at the pretty blue sky. Steel had gotten much thinner since the last time Bailey had seen him but in a fit way and he had a lot of muscle.

Bailey smiled "Ive been good."she mewed and looked at him. She looked at his mussles. they where big and strong. She looked at the sky also. She flicked her tail a little.

"That is good" Steel meowed as he sat down across from her his eyes changing color like they always did when his mood changed. His grey fur ruffled slightly in the breeze and he looked at her, "So how have the kits been?" he meowed, he had not seen them lately.

She looked at his again. "Theyve been fine. Sam came to visit...kind of..."she mewed and sighed at the thought of her son who had left to the rougs.

"I see I suspected him to come back at least once..." Steel meowed his thoughts going back to his son going with Vixen, she was going to take him and train him to be an assassin like herself. He wondered how he was doing, if he was ok....

"well...."She mewed "He didnt even bother to come say hello to me or you so he dosnt care much....Holly saw him and he was with a she cat, he didnt want to be here. "SHe mewed her eyes filling with tears as she explained.

"Well he's got a life in the rogue's now and I'm sure he cares about you..." Steel meowed with a handsome smile to her, his grey fur belw softly in the wind as he though about what she had said "Ah he's got a she-cat" he meowed flatly.

Bailey shook her head in confusion. SHe looked at Steel and smiled a little. She wached the wind blow through his coat. "So.."She mewed"Hows your life been?"she asked in a casual voice.

Steel thought, "Hard but rewarding" He put emphsize on the hard part since being a stray was quite hard since you had to find your own food but he did not mind much. "What about you?" Steel meowed his unusual eyes looking up at her.

Bailey looked at him and shruged "Fine...I guess."She mewed and looked away. She flicked her tail and looked at the setting sun. She quickly looked away remembering waht had happened the last few times she had done that.

"You guess?" Steel pondered out loud to himself and Bailey wondering if there was somthing more. He looked at the sun as she looked away and smiled at the warmth it brought to him as the rays soaked into his grey fur.

Bailey shruged again "Yeah.."she mewed quietly and Licked a paw drawing it over her ear. She turned to look at a tree where a bird was calling out.

Steel looked at Bailey looking at the bird and let his thoughts acidently come out of his mouth, "You know you're beautiful?" He asked then noticed what he had said out loud instead of it his head, he looked at her with his orange eyes.

Bailey turned her head to look at Steel with her eyes full of wonder. "Thank you,"she mewed quietly. "Your very handsome your self."she mewed with a smile.

Steel smiled a big grin, "you're definatly more beautiful" he remarked with a grin still. He nuzzled her softly his orange eyes dancing as he felt his heart warming with love.

Bailey felt her cheeks get hot with embarassment. "I dont know..."She mewed with a smile. She looked at Steel and noticed what shade his orange eyes where at the moment.

Bailey looked away for a second. then she looked back "Sorry to bring this up but i want to know."she paused "Why did you leave me?"she whipered she hoped that Steel would not be mad at her.

"Well I figured you would still be mad at me for leaving you to go to the rogues..." Steel addmitted with a bleak smile and he looked up at the sky his eyes a pale yellow color.

"Well,"She mewed "I got over it after awhile beacuse i had to belive that it was what you wanted. I didnt trust that Vixen, Shes the reason i thought you left me. I tried to get rid of that thought. I thought that she had stolen you from me and thats why i was mad. it made me sad when Sam left to for the same reason. She must be better than i am is what i had told my self but then i had to stop because i knew that this was reality."She mewed and shrugged

Steel looked out into the distance, "your right Vixen is worse then us all" Steel agreeded looking back towards her with a smile, his eyes suddenly a vibrant yellow which ment he was happy...i think.
