Leaf looked at the ground, spring green eyes agnoized. "I'm sorry, Sam." She meowed quietly, shaking her head.

Sam looked at her his face a frown and his blue eyes were serious as he looked at her, "You don't have anything to be sorry for" Sam meowed since he knew this was all his fault in the first place and if he would have just left her alone she would never be in any danger. He looked away his frown still on his face as he looked at the den wall.

Leaf sighed and shook her head. "Sam, there's always gotta be two sides. You can't beat yourself up because you never left me. I should have seen this coming... I never left you either." She looked up at him, hoping this time he would look at her.

Sam looked down at her, his face calm but stressed. "Even so I should not have told you I'd see you again after we got back from the kittypet place, "I should have just said good-bye Leaf and ran away" Sam meowed as he turned his head away and got to his paws, he started to walk toward the entrance way of the den.

Leaf shook her head sadly and watched him leave, not making an attempt to stop him. "You didn't know Sam..." She shook her head, knowing she could never keep him with her. He didn't want her, and she had to accept it. "Good luck Sam. I know you'll be great and make the right decisions."

Sam kept his gaze away from hers as he stood in the entrance way of the den, he noticed the sadness in her voice and it pained him to hear that, his blue eyes lifted to look at her lovingly, "I promise i'll come back" He meowed his voice breaking as he made the promise, he knew he would be able to keep this one, he could not stay away too long...

Leaf swallowed the lump in her throat. She knew once he disappeared she would break in tears, knowing it was reality. "Don't do anything you don't want to, Sam." She whispered, laying her head on her paws and closing her eyes tight.

Sam laughed a velvety laugh as he walked over to her and nuzzled her with his head before turning away from her with a sober face as he walked away in the darkness of the den, he was gone in a second. Then his voice rang out in the night "This best for you" his voice was dull but yet full of emotion.

Finally the tears started to fall as she knew; it was over. She shook her head with a sigh and gazed around the den. It felt empty... she felt empty.
