((DUH DUH DUH DUH.... This happens kinda everywhere, so the postish is here in the In-Between. Cuz it's where the story begins and the middle of pretty much everywhere.... so... yeah... Hi!))
Six cats. Two were kits.
They waited, and waited until the day gave away to the night.
When the darkness fell over the In-Between, with their eyes glinting, they moved forward like one shadow.
"Where do we start? Where do we start?" Bandit asked, jumping up and down. Only the white patches on his pelt were visible, and his glowing green eyes. "Where? Where?"
"Hmm..."
The leading cat, a tall dark tabby with luminous blood red eyes, looked around.
"Ah, Despair. I'm sure there's a cat you know...?"
Yes, since he wanted to keep those he disliked, VampireBat asked his son who to go after first.

Despair stayed crouched, his muscle tense next to his father. He examined the clearing before him. The traffic of cat's was beginning to thin out as night fell, but few still walked. His ears pricked toward a small feline form.
She had a light brown pelt and very small, fragile limbs. She looked like a kittypet. An easy kill. The dark gray tom nodded in the darkness toward Bell.
"The weakest should die first." he meowed darkly.

VampireBat smiled. "Very good, Despair! Yes, the weak has no place in this world. Let's take advantage of our numbers. Someone is going to go down there, think of something creative, and walk her away from the rest of the cats. Then we circle her. A fast kill, please. I don't want her to scream and scare the rest of the prey away," he instructed, quiet but loud enough for his small group to hear.
He had never, ever attacked a prey in a group before. Sometimes duos. But never with six cats. This should be very interesting.
Bandit tilted his head. He'd like to lure the she-cat away and toward them, but he didn't know how..

Despair nodded and stayed as still as death itself.
"One of the kits, maybe." he suggested quietly. She-cats usually couldn't resist kits, especially the foolishly trusting kittypet she-cats. Bandit, the little ball of cuteness, supposedly, could easy lure her away with something. And Despair would be waiting to go for her throat.

VampireBat nodded.
"Kits? You go there and tell her you lost your moss-ball. You bring her behind that big boulder there, saying that that's where you played with it last. We will be waiting in the shadows, so you better not make any mistakes."
The dark tom padded, his huge paws making no sound, toward the boulder. He motioned to the others to follow him.
Bandit swallowed. This was his big moment.
He looked at Xena, not sure if she was coming with him or not, before hoping innocently toward the to-be victim, looking like a small bunny.
His eyes were wide, and he faked panic.
"I wost my woss-ball! Can soweone pwease help me?" he squeaked.

Xena stayed seated letting Bandit take this one... she'd get the next one. She watched with a large smile, but he soon left her vision as she was so short so she climbed up onto Shade's back being careful not to give her position away. Shade flicked her tail quickly at Xena's sudden movement and her eyes caught sight of the cat she wanted and smiled very wide. She wasn't even watching Bandit anymore.... Her hated cousins mate just happened to be walking down the In-Between at this time. She couldn't hold back a soft chuckle of satisfaction.

Bell looked up, startled at first, but then she smiled at the kit. "You lost your moss ball? I'll help you, little one." she meowed. "Where's you loose it?"
Despair turned and bared his teeth in a silent snarl at Shade. Bell was within hearing distance. "Shut it!" he growled so low that Shade might not even had heard.

Shade flicked her ear showing she'd heard, but just smiled one of her dangerous bloodlust smiles and she was careful about making sure that SugarStorm didn't get too far out of her line of vision.

VampireBat, who had been observing Shade in deep concentration, looked over at SugarStorm. Understanding, then deep satisfaction, flowed in his blood red eyes.
Wait, he mouthed. The first prey was coming...
He motioned with his tail for everyone to get ready and stay still.
"Ower thwere! I thwink it went under that woulder!"
Bandit ran toward the boulder, looking eager and afraid for his moss-ball. He looked over his shoulder a couple times to make sure she was following.
Right before she looked under the boulder, the cats will circle her.
It was all planned in VampireBat's head. The others will soon understand when they saw him sneak out, keeping to the shadows. Good thing they waited for the night, since they needed the darkness.
The kit was doing a good job, to his surprise.
He will send the other one, the she-kit, to get Shade's chosen victim.

Bell padded over and bent down to look underneath the boulder...
Despair's blood red eyes pulsed in excitment as he saw they're chance. His long, white claws were already unsheathed. It would be the first time he ever really used them.

Comet stalked forward and got into a postition that would favor him with his white pelt, he stuck out in the dark relatively easily, but from where he was at... you couldn't even see his green eyes, but he could see her.
Xena jumped off of Shade and landed lightly on her paws and moved off toward the opposite side of the she-cat that Comet had gone to. Not a twig snapped surprisingly enough, and she crouched waiting for some sort of signal.. If not... this was a good view to watch.
Shade reluctantly took her eyes off of SugarStorm... She couldn't go too far after all in the matter of minutes it would take to kill this she-cat. She was suddenly as still as a statue on top of the boulder looking down at Bell. Even if Bell looked up Shade would look like nothing but a part of the rock.

Despair slunk around to one of the brightest parts where there was little shadow to hid any other cat, but it favored him. He blended in almost unnatrually well, with only is bright red eyes visible, but he narrowed those to slits.

VampireBat went beside Despair, while Bandit was on Bell's other side, still acting.
Then VampireBat waved his tail as the signal. He leaped onto Bell, pinning her down.
"Don't kill her! Make her blood pour in a puddle, and she has to be in enough pain to be unable to move," he instructed. He wasn't going to attack her. He wanted to see how the others will do it.
Bandit nodded, and went to one of Bell's paw to break her leg..

Shade waited where she sat... There were too many cats... what fun was that? None... She looked back to the side where SugarStorm was still around, but getting farther away... She'd now reached a secluded part of the In-Between, and now would probably be the best chance. She leaped off in blur from the rock and starting stalking quickly toward SugarStorm. Shade kept to the shadows and didn't make a sound as she moved. You could hardly even see her... and that was only when you knew where she was...
Xena looked over at Shade curiously as she disappeared 'what is she doing?' she wondered and then turned back to their victim and ran toward her. Slamming hard into her ribs... that would be quite painful... wouldn't be able to move probably either. She felt some crack beneath her and she smiled in satisfaciton.

VampireBat noticed Shade running off. He looked at Comet, then Despair, silently telling them they were in charge of Bell, along with the kits.
He leaped off and ran after Shade, catching up to her after a few long strides.
The idea of someone else taking one of his prey was repulsive, but he made it seem like he just wanted to help her. Mentally, he snickered.

Despair leaped into action, following his father's inscrutions. His unsheathed claws went right for Bell's throat, but he did not slice it as you would to kill someone. He grabbed it with his long claws and slowly pressed them in further in her neck, a large pool of blood swelling over his paws and forming a puddle.
Bell's eyes widened in fear and then pain, but she was barely getting enough air to breath through her constricted throat, so all forms of a scream were impossible.

Shade glared back at VampireBat as he came up close enough for her to recognize his pawsteps... He didn't have anything to do with this... She knew very well what he was thinking for the most part... I mean she shared her head with some of the most dangerous abyssclanners... She knew what they thought like and he was no different.
SugarStorm was sitting down now looking with her back turned to them which just made it all the easier for Shade as she came closer quicly.

"I go front, you go back," VampireBat instructor, smiling charmingly at her. He then disappeared in the darkness, going his own way to attack...
Bandit was looking down at the puddle with huge eyes. "Do we drink it now? Can we kill her, first? She's in huge pain...."
That was his weakness: he had a big enough heart for an assassin.

Shade narrowed her eyes, but he was already gone and no point in giving away her position. She snuck up behind SugarStorm and tackled her down a small hill. Before they had even started moving though Shade had cut her throat, not fatally, just what Despair did.. to keep her from screaming. SugarStorm had been too close to the In-Between path in her opinion so... she needed to be farther away... thus the tackled down the hill. Shade landed on top of SugarStorm easily pinning her down.... SugarStorm would have gasped if that was possible for her now... she recognized Shade.... this was her mate's cousin and the one that had sparked the little evil in NarrowRiver... and the one that had ruined that whole relationship...

VampireBat was already down.
He rolled his eyes. Too bad for team-work, he thought coldly.
He padded closer and ripped SugarStorm's tongue out. Blood covered the ground in seconds, and he lapped some up.

Pain and fear flashed through SugarStorm's eyes and she already had several cuts where Shade had ripped her terribly sharp claws at her as they had tumbled down... She started to black out from loss of blood, but she saw Shade's paw raise felt several more horrifiingly painful cuts and then nothing.... SugarStorm gave in to the blackness, and Shade was left smiling slightly to herself.

Green eyes glitted with malice in the shadows, as well as dark shadows in the eyes. They turned absouloutly bone chilling, as if they had filled with green blood. A calico leaped out into the scene, ignoring the assasins who had killed her most beloved sister. She stood by SugarStorm, watching her. Her eyes shone with deep sadness, which was soon replaced by rage and evil. Her calico fur lifted, making her even bigger. Her tail lashed. She seemed to have turned as fierce and merciless as a hyena itself. HyenaSong had given into the darkness that had been threatening to engulf her heart, and now she was new, newer then ever.

Shade looked at HyenaSong only slightly surprised... anger was mostly felt surprise was a weakness as well... How did she get caught taking out this she-cat? She NEVER got caught! It was her specialty and here comes this cat out strolling and catches her! With a slight hiss she looked at VampireBat

HyenaSong turned to glare at Shade, her glare still bonechilling, but now there was promise and strength in them. "This isn't over!" She hissed, but instead of leaping at the she cat, she turned back to her sister.

VampireBat lifted his head slowly from the blood, taking his time. He licked his lips in satisfaction. How refreshing that was!
"Of course it isn't," he said in his usual snake-like voice. "You're next."
He waved his tail at Shade. It looked like a farewell gesture, but it was actually a 'follow me' motion.
The assassin disappeared in the shadows, just like that. He melted with the darkness, it seemed. Moons and moons of practice to get the technique right. He knew Shade would be able to see in his mind how exactly he had done that..
