((Sorry for the blunt title, but it's true if you were MudPaw))
MudPaw trotted across the Rolling Feilds of MysticClan, his nose in the air, searching for any scent of herbs. He nearly stumbled along a small, growing bush of Death Berries. He shivered, kicking as much dirt over the bush as he could. I'll have to warn DestinyWinds about this. he thought while drawn away from the deadly berries by another scent, one of a very helpful herb. MudPaw cocked his head at the small patch of Marigold, deciding to leave it. They had plenty, he he should probably let this bloom a little longer than before harvesting it. Suddenly, he picked up a scent on the light breeze that made his heart stop for a moment. it was his brother, RiddlePaw. And blood. A lot of blood. Picking up the pace, he ran as fast as his legs could carry him to the source, gasping as he came to the rise of a little hill. At the bottom in a small depression, lay the mangled body of his brother. ((HOLY CRAP))
---About an Hour Early---
He didn't know why he was out here, but he was. Ok, so that wasn't entirely true. Fireseeing had told him to come out here. The fire had. But for reasons unknown to RiddlePaw. Wondering the feilds, it felt..peaceful. OUut here, RiddlePaw could think. WilyPaw was gone. He felt his brother had abandoned any beleif in MysticClan anymore, and even in MudPaw and himself. His head down, RiddlePaw absently watched his paws as he moved through the tall grasses. Wait, what was that? A small mew caught his attention, arousing him from his thoughts. And then another sound came, this one louder and more violent. It was the sharp bark of a dog. The FireSeers apprentice flew throught he brush until he stumbled into a small clearing. There, he met one of the most horrible sights his large yellow eyes had ever seen. A huge, brown, ugly hunting dog held a small smoky black kit in it's jaws. The kit, who's eyes seemly had only opened a few days ago, mewling in pain and fear. And..there was another cat, a gray she-cat, probably the kits mother. She was attacking the dog, desperate to get the kit back. The dog turned to ram towards the she-cat when RiddlePaw launched himself onto it's back, joining the fight for the small kits life. He scored his claws across the side's of it;s face, sending it into a raging fury. It tossed the kit aside and tore at RiddlePaw with it's sharp deadly teeth. He felt them rip into his flank, going deep enough to the bone. He howled in pain. The she-cat made a move for the kit, whichc attracted the dogs attention. He released RiddlePaw and sprang after the mother and kit, clamping his jaws tight around the she-cats throat. RiddlePaw watched the light at once leave her eyes before he staggered forward. The dog, hardly even harmed, battered him a little more before taking his dead cat away, back from where he came. RiddlePaw lay in a pool of his own blood. He could only watch as the smoky black kit stagger to his side, before everything went black.
MudPaw dashed down the hill, skidding to a halt at his brother. "RiddlePaw! RiddlePaw, say something!" But he was silent. The brown tom pressed his ear to his brothers chest. Yes! there was a heartbeat! Panicked and frazzled, MudPaw suddenly remebered the herbs he had gathered and left on the other side of the hill. He darted off to get them when he tripped over an object. Scowling, he turned to see a petrified kit, mewling piteously. "What the?"
((Anyone))
