Ravensight had two mice that dangled from his powerful jaws. He had lead a hunting patrol out, they had done considerably well. He dropped the mice on to the fresh kill pile, a smile on his face. Then he walked over to the apprentice den. “Grudgepaw!” He called, it was time for their training session. His orange eyes were calm, as he waited patiently for her to show up.

GrudgePaw deliberatly took plenty of time, walking slowly out of the apprentices' den. "Hello, RavenSight," she yawned loudly.

He flicked his tail in greeting, "Nice day today." He meowed, "Plenty of prey running around the woods." He added and began to pad away. Towards the Firefly swamp but not quite that far. "Today we're going to learn how to hunt. First show me your hunting stance." He meowed, and sat down. Waiting for Grudgepaw to do what he said.

She rolled her eyes. "Maybe later. Too tired now." She said that with another huge yawn.

Ravensight rolled his own orange eyes, "How about you show me your stance, or I'll have you pick ticks out of the elders fur?" He meowed.

GrudgePaw looked up at him with defiance. After grumbling about how life is unfair and something ugly about ticks, she went down in a hunter crouch. The worst hunter crouch there ever was. Her back wasn't straight, she kept lifting her head, and her tail was straight in the air.

Ravensight chuckled, "Alright, I see we'll have some work to do. Put your tail down, close to the ground. Straighten out your back, you don't want to have a crippled back Do you?" It was a rhetorical question. "Keep head low." He instructed.

Surprisingly, she obeyed and got it almost perfect. "My back hurts," she complained. "Can I sit up now?"

Ravensight nodded, and looked at her. "Grudgepaw would you mind sitting up as straightly as possible?" He meowed, his eyes scanned her spinal cord.

((Had you ever noticed that when someone has no inspiration or happiness in life, they never ever keep their back straight? That's GrudgePaw. lol))
She grumbled something incomprehensible and rolled her eyes.
"This is not a military training," GrudgePaw said clearly, lifting her chin to stare at her mentor with defiant eyes.

"I know, I know." Ravensight meowed, "But you may have back problems. Could you please just do as I say? Just this once?" His meow was all seriousness and concern as if he was speaking to his own daughter.

She growled and glared, but nodded, and straightened her back. "Do I have to stay like this all day?"

Raventail checked out her spinal cord, making sure that they're wasn't anything broken or tweaked. There was a small notch like thing in the middle of her spine... It wasn't good nor bad. He nodded to himself, "Okay Grudgepaw. You're training is done for today, do as you wish." He meowed then began to pad away.

She seemed confused and surprised.
"Wait, wait wait wait!!" GrudgePaw called after RavenSight, getting up and following him. "Aren't you going to show me the territory? How to hunt? How to fight? Today you just taught me how to sit straight! That's nothing! That's boring! Does that mean you're boring, too?" she meowed quickly, her brown & green eyes wide.

Ravensight looked at his apprentice, amusement shown in his deep orange eyes. "That was too easy..." He chuckled, "We'll learn how to fight." He meowed satisfied.
"Okay we'll start you off with the easier moves. Okay two basic frontal attacks are the Frontpaw blow and the Front paw Strike." He began.
"The Front paw blow is when you bring your front paw down hard on your opponent's head, keep you claws sheathed." He demonstrated it. "You try."

He nodded, "Alright then try it on me then." He meowed, "I won't move this time, just so you can get the move down and the foot work." He added.

"But I'd get punished if I killed my own mentor," GrudgePaw protested, her eyes slightly widening at the punishments... exiled, killed, cleaning the elders den for moons and moons...
