Setting up and settling down

EverStar knew that a clan had to have a strong base to live well, the apprentices had to have mentors, she had to have a deputy, and transitions from kithood to apprenticeship and form apprenticeship to warrior had to be made. This was her job, even if Starclan chose to ignore the formation of a fifthclan, this all had to happen, and if her clan was to keep faith in her, she had to keep up a pretense of Starclan, and Abyssclan, and all of it, it had to be there for her clan to believe her, and follow her. In the middle of the forming camp was a cut down trunk of an old oak that had once stood there. The rest of the oak had fallen, and was hollow, and made the nursery. The stump was EverStar's den, and the equivalent to Highrock. She jumped gracefully to the top of the stump and yowled for her clan. "All cats gather around the stump for a clan meeting!"

She looked around blinking she had to give all the apprentices that weren't fully trained mentors, some o the kits were old enough to be apprentices, and she needed a deputy.

(ok, SOOOOO basically Twia is going ot have the deputy position eventually, so I need a temporary deputy, a cat that may become an elder, or you want to die, in say, two months... maybe three? any volunteers?)

DappledGranite came out from the warriors' den and sat down right in the middle.

SaltyPaw paddedo ut of the apprentice's den and sat down. He needed a mentor here.

SharpPaw came from the territory carrying a small watervole. He looked around for his mentor as he sat down close to the back of the forming crowd.

Blazekit, Eternalkit, and Dawnkit sat just inside the nursery area watching curiously

BrightFlames padded over to his sister, sitting down.

DappledKit padded drowsily out of the nursery. She sat down by DawnKit, looking at EverStar.

BlackAbyss walked out of the makeshift den for the warriors, she had been working on it with her brothers, it was a huge clump of ferns they had been setting up stick framing and some other things to give the warriors room in the clump. She sat next to her appretnice SharpPaw, she had talked with EverStar, and EverStar knew that BlackAbyss was SharpPaw's mentor, and it would stay that way.
(OK how old are each of the kits?)

LossDream padded into the center belly pudging and moving. Shw couldn't go far her kits would be born soon, a blessing to the clan.

BrightFlames looked at LossDream. The she cat was obviously pregnant, but she didn't tell anyone the father.

DappledKit shook her fur. She yawned.

MottledBug, one of EverStar's oldest and only surviving daughters, stepped out of the ferny swath that had become the pathetic warrior's den that kept no cat safe from the elements.
She showed no emotion, as usual, and settled down a good distance from the rest of the cats, towards the far shadowed corners of camp.
On her left ear, which was sort of weighed down, was the paw-sized giant lady bug which had replaced the mutant monarch butterfly, which had disapeared around the time of the fight with Rogues in MysticClan. MottledBug was known for keeping bugs and small winged creatures as pets. They were so comfortable around her that they even sat on her ears, shoulders, and back from time to time.
In her paws, shockingly, was the bone she'd stumbled over the day before. The moment the sun had risen since the night of her terrifying vision and sprint back to camp, she had gone to retrieve it.
She wasnt sure what to do with it, but she kept it around, feeling that it had to have some use for... well... something. It was smooth as polished stone under her paws, almost like something artificial. But she could tell it was real by the feeling that nearly radiated off of it; it still held the lingering dilluted trace of suffocating darkness that had nearly imobilized her the other day.
She left the bone under her paws and looked up at EverStar to see what her mother would say.


((Kitty, you can name it SwampClan or BogClan. Personaly, I think I'm in favor of BogClan, more unusual and less overused, I'd say...
Unless anyone else has a better name for it? And we're trying to stick to the description of the territory they live on. No MarshClans or ShadowClans.))

Everstar cleared her throat as the cats started to settle "First some announcements. After some long discussions with most of the clan, I have come to the decision we will call this clan BogClan. SO from this day forth in the eyes of Starclan we are BogClan." she knew Starclan was ignoring them, but she would keep a brave face, and not let her clan know this. "Next, we have the blessing.." or curse she thought "Of Kits coming, LossDream is to have kits!" she smiled as the clan congratulated the new queen.

SinisterNight moved so he was next to MottledBug, his sister. and glanced at her with his good eye as EverStar spoke again.

"Now, Since we have been uprooted from our old clans, many of our apprentices do not have their mentors. SO I would like to begin by replacing those mentors for these cats. SaltyPaw, WilyPaw, MistedPaw, LunarPaw, FairyPaw, WaveringPaw, FawnPaw, SplashPaw, and MinnowPaw please come forward." she glanced at each quickly
"MistedPaw, your mentor will be DappledGranite
LunarPaw, your mentor will be BrightFlames
FairyPaw, your mentor will be SodPelt
WaveringPaw, your mentor will be NorthFrost.
SaltyPaw, your mentor will be GeodeSoul
WilyPaw, your mentor will be SinisterNight
SplashPaw, your mentor will be FrostBite
FawnPaw, your mentor will be RockPrism
MinnowPaw, your mentor will be MischeiviousSnake." EverStar wrinkled her nose hoping that the pairs she had made would work alright. She gave the clan time to cheer and the mentors and apprentices to meet each other.

LossDream dipped her head to thank EverStar of her aproval. She watched and the apprintices recived new mentors and twitched her tail. She would get one soon she thought, but the kits coming would hold her back from this bunch.

((Actually, Kitty, I was hoping that MottledBug could mentor Twia's kit JewelKit. You'll have to find someone else for WaveringPaw. And when the time comes, about a week from now, when WildKit is to get a mentor, I want her mentor to be DragonFang, the med cat.))

SplashPaw and MinnowPaw touched noses with FrostBite and MischeiviousSnake, as they had been told to do by EverStar.

WilyPaw touched noses with SinisterNight, but still felt a little annoyance for some reason, possibly because he wanted to get training right away.

SodPelt touched noses with FairyPaw, feeling bad for the small, injuried apprentice, even though she was healing.

RockPrism reached his nose to FawnPaw, smiling for the first time since he was cast out. "We'll start training tomorrow." He whispered.

FrostBite smiled at his apprentice "We start training tomorrow"

SinisterNight smiled "We will train as soon as the ceremonies are over."

FairyPaw grinned "Its GREAT to meet you. Your SodPelt? isn't your sister DappledGranite? what was SpectrumClan like? my daddy's dad was from Spectrumclan." she was trying to bounce without hurting herself, and it wasn't quite working, so instead she looked like jello in an earthquake.

WaveringPaw walked slowly and carefully towards NorthFrost "Hi?" she said cautiously reaching up with her nose towards him.. her voice wavered beautifully on the verge of being strong, but it seemed to tremble, and it was a beautiful musical voice.

DappledGranite padded toward her new apprentice and touched noses with her. "When would you like to start training again?" She asked

SaltyPaw walked up to GeodeSoul looking up expectantly at him. "When we training?"

(Blaze and Eternal are 5 moons.... Dawn is either 3 or 2 moons....)

NorthFrost seemed almost reluctant to touch noses with WaveringPaw, but he did regardless. "We'll start training soon, so be ready." He meowed gruffly.

SplashPaw nodded uneasily. It would be weird leaving his sister to go training..but he knew she would be fine.

WilyPaw nodded, kneading the ground with his claws.

SodPelt grinned. "Slow down before you hurt yourself, FairyPaw. Yes DappledGranite is my sister and SpectrumClan is fine. What about you? How was MysticClan?"

"Well I dunno, it WAS fine, till they kicked us out.. but now I'm not so sure, I thought everyone liked us, they did too! but then they just... made us leave!"FairyPaw frowned and stopped bouncing. "I'm gunna be the best apprentice you ever had!" she added smiling "I promise, I wanna be the best queen the clan has ever seen, I have to be caring, and loving, and I have to be firm, and enforce the rules, and I have to be able to fight like all of Tigerclan!!! and be as fast as all of LeopardClan to cath the kits, aor stop them from being bad....and I have to be forgiving, Which I THINK I already am......" FairyPaw loved to talk, and she was one of those outgoing loving people who loved everyone, and was nice to everyone....

FrostBite smiled at SplashPaw and said softly "Don't Worry, MischeviousSnake won't let anything happen to your sister." FrostBite understood worrying for one's sister, I mean he had BlackAbyss for a sister, she went LOOKING for trouble......

SodPelt chuckled. "Sounds like you have it all planned out. Any special toms in your life?" The warriors eyes twinkled.

SplashPaw nodded slowly. He had to trust FrsotBite.. He thought he could with these cat's.

"Not yet..." she said with a half frown, her voice went from uber fast and happy to a slower more *sigh* sound. "But I know I have to be super picky about toms." she said firmly smiling again. "You have a mate?" she asked tilting her head to look at him... he HAD to have a mate somewhere.

"Um..yeah." SodPelt meowed, uncertain wether or not to tell his apprentice of FernSight. Oh, he loved her so much. But alas, this weren't as simple between them as they were when they were both kits in the CAE.

"Ohhh.. she is out of clanisn't she? perhaps.. ummmm not a mysticclan.. I knwo that.. CelestialClan? no no no Natureclan, their the ones you border! am I right?" she whispered so no-one would over hear

SodPelt's fur bristled ever-so-slightly. "Um..yeah. Her names FernSight." He confessed.

FairyPaw smiled "I met her once, don't worry I won't tell, your secrets safe... sorry to pry... I just find it sooo... interesting." she said softly she looked at him, hery pretty eyes blinking sweetly "I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to bother you.. I ought to shut up now."

SharpPaw turned toward his mentor... "Can we go do something? We haven't trained in like forever" He complained..... he was soooo bored right now.

BlackAbyss looked at him and sighed "When the ceremonies are over." she said smiling another of her rare smiles, her white teeth gleamed against her very black self.

EverStar cleared her throat again "There are also new kits ready to be apprenticed!" she called as the cats went quiet below her. "But first, EaglePaw is ready to be a warrior, she will be the first Warrior named by BogClan! EaglePaw, You have trained hard, and have been dedicated, in the last few days, you have worked extra hard for this clan, and we honor you with your warrior name. From this day forward, you shall be known as EagleFlight! and BogClan welcomes you." she let the clan cheer for the new warrior then called "Mui, Seth, WildKit, and JewelKit, you are old enough to train as apprentices.
JewelKit, you will be known as JewelPaw, and your mentor will be MottledBug, MottledBug teach this apprentice all you know, and pass on your caring, brave nature.
WildKit, you will be WildPaw, and DragonFang will mentor you in the ways of a MedicineCat, DragonFang, teach this apprentice all you know, and pass on your firm, but caring nature, and your connection to starclan.
Seth you have asked to keep a loner style name, and we respect that request, your mentor will be MinedCoal. MinedCoal teach this apprentice all you can, and pass on your brave, and strong nature and abilitites.
Mui, you also have asked to keep your loner name, and we respect that request, I will train you in all I know, so that you may serve your clan bravely, and well." Everstar paused to jump down and touch noses with her apprentice. then allowed the clan time to greet the newest apprentices.

Jeweledpaw dipped her head to Everstar, then walked over to touch noses with Mottledbug. Her sharp eyes never leaving the older warrior's face.


Mui and Seth both dipped their heads in unison. Seth then branched out to touch noses with Minedcoal, while his sister stood infront of the great Everstar. Her eyes gleaming with pride and determination.
