Jewledkit knew she wasn't supposed to be out of camp, but she pushed the thought into the back of her mind. She knew that Swampclan was the most disorganized clan ever, so her absence wouldn't be too noticable.
She wrinkled up her nose in discust. She hated the feeling of mud clinging to her ginger coated pelt. She could feel the wetness sinking through her fur, and spreading out onto her sensitive skin. "Of all territories..." She snorted.
She shook her head. She pricked her ears, and waited patiently for her prey to come to her. Her muscles were tence, her eyes gleaming in anticipation. Just one toad. Just one measly little toad, she thought. That's it. Then I'd go back. She nodded once, her mind was made up.
The sun was sinking lower and lower. Streams of gold, purple, and a blood red color entwined along the horizon, where the sun would vanish in due time. Irriation pricked at Jeweledkit's fur, there wasn't a toad in sight!
She was about to head back when something caught her eye. Her head snapped to attention, her eyes zooming in on the small rustling noise. Her lips peeled back into a smile, her sharp fangs glittering dangeriously. She crept forward, ready to spring.
The rustling stopped altogether, and the swamp was hushed. Nothing stirred, not even the wind. It was as if someone put the scene on mute, Jewledkti sat up uneasily. She tilted her head to one side, the eerieness was unsettling.
Ever so slowly she began towards the small bush where the rustling first came from. She neared closer, and closer. Her heart beat was racing within her chest. Her eyes narrowed with suspition, and there was just a flicker of fear within them.
She peered over the bush, and let out a small shriek. Behind the bush was a body of a cat... well not exactly. More like the basic bone structure of a cat. And it was, well, moving. Jeweledkit gulped, and took a step back.
The cat, who was only a structure of bones looked up at her. It was starring at her, she was sure of it. The two holes where eyes should be, burned right through her. She could almost feel her fur shrivle up.
Paw steps were rapidly approaching, Jeweledkit didn't dare move. Then the cat simply collasped, and the mud simply swallowed it whole. Jeweledkit's eyes were as wide as moons, and she didn't realize it before, but she had been holding her breath the whole time. Just as the cat was almost near her, she let out a sigh of relief. She then turned to greet the cat beside her...(anyone)
