First Day of Medicine Cat Training

MudPaw busily worked on stacking and mixing the right herbs together. It was past sunhigh, and he had been at it hardd all day. Oh, but he loved his job. Working with DestinyWinds was the best thing in the world. He already had a head start from living in the medicine cats den. And it was such a releif for him that he didn't have to move out, unlike his brothers. A cat-formed shadow engulfed him, making him jump. ((KITTY!!!!!))

((Wait... when did DreamFall die and why does Destiny already have an apprentice?!))

((DreamFall was killed in the rogue battle in the Clan camp and DestinyWinds has an appretnice already because Destiny, NorthFrost, and SnowAngel discovered RiddlePaw, MudPaw, and WilyPaw a long time ago, but they lived in the medicine cats den instead of the nursery. MudPaw was always helping DestinyWinds with stuff. It was only natrual that he became the med cat apprentice.))

"MudPaw, calm down........ its only me!" DestinyWinds smiled "Now remember don't but the yarrow and the sage to close together, they will dilute each other." she said softly

SunWhisper walked in. "I always found herbs amusing, they are so similar to being a Fireseer sometimes when you think about it." She giggled. She had an apprentice of her own, Riddlepaw but he was off doing his own things, probably relaxing or playing whatever an apprentice does.

"Greetings Sunwhisper." she said smoothly "Now MudPaw, what is Yarrow's purpose?" she asked

[~*Snowy*~]

"Greetings." SunWhisper replied then sat down and watched the medicine cats, her tail wrapped up in her paws.

Mudaw was silent for a moment. "Making a cat retch? IN case they've eaten Holly Berries or something else not good for them?" The medicine cat's apprentice nodded to his brother's mentor.

"very good.... so now close your eyes.." she waited till he did as she instructed and waved mint in his face "What herb was that?" she asked setting it back down in its pile

Obediently MudPaw closed his eyes. He sniffed closely at the herb infront of him, his features furrowed in concentration. "Hmm...uh...catmint?" He meowed, opening one eye slowly.

"Very close, that one was pepper mint, come here." she ushered him forward to three piles "Alright this one is peppermint, you can tell by the leaf shape, its narrow, roundish, with a jagged edge. Cat mint is broad leafed, with a much more jagged edge and point. and Water mint is half way between, and recognizable because it smells nothing liek mint... smell each.. lock their scents into your mind."s he ordered gently

MudPaw did as he was told, feeling bad to himself that he had gotten a question wrong. he hated it whent hat happened. The brown tom sniffed each herb carefully and poked them with his paws, feeling it texture and memorizing it carefully.

"Don't feel bad, I was horrible at first too." DestinyWinds smiled at him "You'll learn, you'll do well."

MudPaw smiled. "Thanks, DestinyWinds." He sat down, tiding the herb piles a little more. "So..what was it like when you were an apprentice?"

"Well unlike you, My mentor wasn't really "there"" DestinyWInds frowned "DreamFall came back to the clans because starclan summoned her, she had to, she left her kits in the rogues, and never looked back. She came, purely to train me for Starclan." DestinyWinds shook her head "She didn't really belong anymore.. she wasn't here in soul, just physically. She was stern, and fiercer than any cat I've ever met... but still soft, motherly and loving. She was mildly Bi-Polar..." DestinyWinds thought a minute more "She taught me the basics, and left me to teach the rest to myself mostly... she was stern, intelligent, but believed that the best learning was self taught... so my Apprenticeship was lonely... but.... I had my brother and some of the people he got n fights with, and SinisterPaw.... that were under my command most of the time, SinisterPAw because of his blindness, and ImmortalBattle because he was in trouble, AmethystBlades because she fought back against my brother..." DestinyWinds chuckled "I was horrible to start with, but very eager.....and DreamFall said I had the right heart to be a MedicineCat.. and that was all that mattered." DestinyWinds looked at her apprentice meaningfully, "and I fully believe that."

MudPaw felt bad for DestinyWinds. Dispite what she said, DreamFall never really seemed like a 'motherly' figure as DestinyWinds was to him. And he would have everything taught to him, and always a mentor to turn to... Poor DestinyWinds. MudPaw frowned as he pawed at a mint leaf.

DestinyWinds groomed his fur lovingly "You'll be fine, my little MudPaw." she smiled knowing that he would be a good Medicine cat one day, and when she died, he would still be there, taking care of her children, her clan, her clan was her children.

MudPaw smiled and looked up to DestinyWinds, purring. "Thanks." He touched noses withis mentor. "I'm gunna go check on BurningHeart and her kits. I won't bother her if she's sleeping."

"aRLight, thank you!" DestinyWinds called after her apprentice... he would be fine.. (end o post?)
