SnapPaw by the camp's exit, staring out at the Endless Ice absently. Her mentor, LionMane, was supposed to take her out training today. She was cold. She was waiting. Her mood was getting worst by the second. And it was snowing! Eww. So where was that deputy? One more minute, and smoke will start coming out from her ears. She didn't want to train. She hated even the thought of training. But if she stayed in the Apprentices' Den, she would need to suffer from DeadPaw's attempts at charming every single she-cat, and all the noise the other apprentices will make. The thick-furred, small, scrawny she-cat was so caught up in her annoyance, anger and thoughts of everything she hated, that she hadn't even noticed the noisy steps behind from a cat obviously waiting to be noticed.

But instead of the deputy, a black and white tabby tom with a spiny furred tail trotted out. "LionMane's caught something." He made a 'Yikes' face. There was something going around to strangely some leaders and deputies, and he hoped LionMane hadn't caught it.

She hid her surprise when the tom spoke. She needed to pay more intentions. She rolled her eyes at herself. But the news made her growl. Great. Just great. She was out here freezing her butt for nothing. "Who're you?" SnapPaw asked, sounding bored and unhappy. She needed something to distract her. Nothing better than a conversation. But her social skills were terrible, so she sounded a little hostile.

"SpineTail. Since I have no apprentice, I'm training you for the day. LionMane should be able to come back tommorow or the next day." The handsome tom meowed. He could tell she wasn't going to make this easy.

SnapPaw shook her head disapprovingly. "Say what; I go back to my den, and sleep through the rest of the day. You go back to your den and do whatever you warriors do. Pretend you haven't seen me, nor hear any instructions about training me today. Okay?" Without waiting for an answer, she got up and started walking away.
((How old is he?))

(About... well I'm making him younger caz I haven't had a chance to play him in forever so 15 moons)
SpineTail rolled his eyes. "Think not. If he finds out I did he'll punish you. And it won't be camp confindment. He knows you too well. Probably patrols with DeadPaw, and 50% more training?" He had gotten instuctions from LionMane about this already.

((Kk.))
She turned back, her flames in her eyes. "That wouldn't be fair," she complained, or whined. Sulking, she stomped back to SpineTail. "How about we switch roles? I'm the mentor, you're the apprentice. Now, go back to your den and forget that anything ever happened." She looked up at him with a smug expression, as if she won the fight.

"Nice try." SpineTail meowed, swishing his tail on the ground. "Unless you want DeadPaw to join you on this session?"

Her tail lashed. "How could he join this session if there isn't even a session??" SnapPaw challenged. She kept eye contact, not going to show any signs of obedience what-so-ever. She's going to be impossible, rude and self-centered. Like always. She smiled defiantly.

"Fine. It's this or you can clean out the elders den before you go and help amuse the kits? Which will it be?" SpineTail showed no sign of giving up, and she'd only waste time arguing. "The sooner we get going, the sooner it'll end. Don't say anything about not going this time. Make your choice. Training or elders and kits?"

Gah. He got her cornered with only two choices. She would of answered elders and kits, but she disliked the elders' for being so chatty and hated kits for being so noisy and happy. "Training," she finally mumbled, her ears flattened. Well, SpineTail got himself a place on her already-full hate list.

"Great. We're hunting." SpineTail meowed in a buisnesslike voice. "But I'll be as nice as I can and say; I'll make it short." With that, he headed toward the entrance of camp, not waiting for a reply. But he was listening to make sure she didn't try to run off.

The idea of making a run for it struck her mind for a little, but it really wasn't like her to run for anything. Feeling down, she followed the warrior, her paws dragging heavily on the ground. With that much noise, probably all the prey had run off hiding by now. Another smug smile.

SpineTail rolled his eyes. "You aren't going back to camp without two peices of prey. Scaring them off won't help you or me." He grinned the same smug smile. She was only making things harder for herself.

She shrugged, uncaring. "It's not like we're limited in time or anything. And I don't even know how to hunt. And I bet LionMane is just trying to avoid me. Everyone does. After today, you'll be, too." Well, that fact actually was painful to her, a little twisting sensation in her small heart. But never will she let it show. She kept her murky eyes as hard as always.

"No, I saw him. He is sick, not too much, but he's resting so it doesn't increase more." SpineTail meowed, and he was truly honest, it shone in his eyes. "And maybe I won't. Depends." He grinned, half sarcastic. "Okay, well do you know anything about how to hunt?" SpineTail had never had an apprentice, so he didn't know much about this.

"Except that the whole point is to catch a prey? Then... No." She moved up, padding right beside him. She was short for her age, and her head was as high as his shoulder. The way she padded was quite canine-like. As soon as a paw touched the ground, she will raise it back up immediately. SnapPaw hated the snow. It clung between her claws and melted into water. Water was even worst than snow.

"Okay... where to start?" It was a rhetorical question of course. He had never mentored yet, so this was all new territory for him. "Well, you have to know that the prey is there, and know where it is to start. Then we'll move on to crouching and stalking. Now, smell anything that's not you or me?"

She wrinkled her nose. "That'd be hard. I could smell you a mile away," she said, just being her mean self. Still, she did what she was told. Instinctively, she opened her mouth a little and took a small breath, 'tasting' the air. "Snow smells as white as it is. There's pretty much no one else here. There a fading patrol scent, probably the morning one. And there's... a bunny? Over there," she pointed with her tail at big snow piles, where prey could easily hide behind.

Gray bushes in the distance rustled, then a silver bengal shape shot from them, pouncing on the bunny and killing it in a single swift movement. DeadPaw... -.- SnapPaw hadnt smelled him because he was downwind. He glanced up from the kill, having smelled her before he caught the rabbit, and let out a happy mrrow. "Are you hunting too? Great! We cant like, hunt together." The easy-going training session had just become SnapPaw's own personal version of hell.

Her ears flattened. "I was supposed to kill that bunny. This is my training session. Go away!" she meowed sharply at the other apprentice. Why couldn't she just of stayed in her den all day? How could she even think of coming out of it's warmness, for this?? She bit her lower lip, hard, and glared at SpineTail. Send him away, send him away... she was thinking desperately, in the hopes there actually was telepathy. Sadly, there wasn't.

SpineTail looked at SnapPaw, then at DeadPaw. "DeadPaw, wheres your mentor?" His voice held authority that couldn't be switched around.

"MothStar's busy. FrostPaw is out on patrol and I'm on a hunting mission. Cause my mentor thinks I'm mature enough to hunt without her stalking my every step." It hadnt occourred to him yet that MothStar could actually be following him, assessing his skills. "Anyways, three heads are better than two... even if one of the three cant keep from spitting at anyone within range." He gave SnapPaw a pointed stare.

SnapPaw rolled her eyes, but kept them narrowed. "We aren't just hunting," she decided to point out, not sure if it was even true. "SpineTail is going to show me the territory and how to fight. Hmm, SpineTail?" She hardly even glanced up at her sub-mentor before adding: "I bet MothStar haven't even showed you how to claw yet." She stuck her tongue out at DeadPaw, grinning meanly.. She sat down and raised a paw, licking her claws clean. They were all wet and cold from the snow.. How unpleasant.
