ShadowSpecter Comes Calling

Trotting through the alleys the white-speckled tom came. He had a friendly attitude about him and a thoughtful expression. ShadowSpecter hummed thoughtfully to himself as he peered in alley after alley. "Vixen?" he called down one where he thought he caught a glimpse of calico pelt.

[WolfMoon]

Dare peaked out around a corner at Shadow. "Who are you?" he mewed with courosity. It was quite noticeable that he was Vixens kit he just never saw his father before.

ShadowSpecter smiled down at little Dare. Why does he look familar... "I'm ShadowSpecter. But you can call me Shadow." he meowed. "Hey, have you seen a calico she-cat named Vixen around here anywhere?"

[WolfMoon]

"Thats my mom. Im Dare." He mewed sitting down. He still seemed a little bit edgey but was slowly calming down.

Another kit, named Nightmare, tumbled out after her brother Dare. "Hey!" Called the black she kit as she saw her father for the first time. "Mother said you'd be coming sometime soon!" She mewed. "Well, you really have five but only four are here." She meowed, watching her father carefully.

[Burn]

Yet Another black kit came padding out after Nightmare it was Freight; another of Vixens kits. "Wait up you guys" he mummbled as he came up to there sides, he looked at Shadow with unsure eyes "So your my father?" he meowed his voice curious. His head was cocked to the side.

[WolfMoon]

''I guess its our father. mum told me the way he looked and this so call Shadow fits that discription.'' Dare nodded to his sister and brother. Sitting down he began to lick his paw and rubbed it down his face in the common cat fassion.

Holmes' head popped out from the shadows after his twin, Freight. He trotted over, settling beside Nightmare. "This could be him." he commented, looking ShadowSpecter over.

Meanwhile, ShadowSpecter became confused. For such a smart cat, even this was a little overwhelming. He stumbled back to a sitting position, looking wide-eyed at his children. "Why didn't she ever tell me?" he asked to no one inparticular.

[Burn]

Feight laughed at how confused his father looked, his black pelt blending in with the shadows that incased him. His eyes watched him and his siblings "Don't ask me" He meowed with a smile towards him.

[~Stormy~]

Nightmare flicked her brothers ears with an annoyed look. "Oh please guys, she's been waiting for him to come by." She looked to Shadow again, ears pricked. "So yeah, ruight now she's hunting, she should be back soon."

[WolfMoon]

Dare flicked his ears. "Yah she should be here soon. I have noticed her waiting for somebody but she never said who." He mewed mater-of-factly. Narrowing his eyes he began to think. Something that Dare was not meant to do. Shaking himself from his thought he mewed, "Ouch I think I made my brain hurt."

"You don't have a brain, slug-head." Holmes teased, batting at his brother. Holmes, who was considerably smaller than his other siblings, stood on his hind legs to rest himself on Dare's head, still looking his father over.

[~Stormy~]

"Uhhh, Shadow?" Nightmare meowed, watching him. He was saying nothing, just standing there. "You didn't know about us? You should have visited more." She grinned playfully, only joking.

"Yeah." ShadowSpecter sad absently, still in shock a little. He needed to speak with Vixen. "Listen, do you know when Vixen - your mother is coming back?"

[WolfMoon]

"Ouch Holmes get off me." Dare hissed playfully. "Nope I have no idea when she will be back. I think you can stay and wait for her to return though." Getting up and doing a cat stretch Dare stretched and relaxed his growing muscles.

[~Stormy~]

"She'll be home real soon, she went out a while ago. Ever since she was attacked by that Hyena-something cat shes been practicing so she can win." Nightmare mewed, tail high in the air.

"Practicing? Practicing what?" Shadowspecter questioned. What else hadn't Vixen told me... he thought.

Holmes grinned and landed down on all fours again, off of his brother. He padded over and sat next to Nightmare as he listened to her speak to their father.

[WolfMoon]

Dare sat down and looked around. He was bored. Nodding to what his sister said Dare zoned out.

[~Stormy~]

Nightmare rolled her eyes. "Keep up!" She meowed with a joking grin. "Some she cat nearly killed her so shes practicing her fighting moves so when the cat comes around again she'll be ready." Who knew how Nightmare always knew so much. "She was waiting for you to come visit for a while."

ShadowSpecter nodded. But he was here now, and Vixen wasn't. Where was she? What could be taking her so long? Was she ok? All these questions ran through Shadow's head in less then a second.

[~Stormy~]

"Shadow?" Came a new voice, as Vixen dropped a mouse onto the ground, coming from behind him. "What are you doing here?" She asked, padding even closer.

ShadowSpecter jumped to his feet, all of the questions and worries erased from his mind as soon as he set his eyes on Vixen; he was happy again. But then he had a glance back at the kits and shook his head. "Why didn't you tell me about them, Vixen?" Shadow asked, feeling hurt.

Holmes stayed where he was when his mother arrived. He boredly wondered where Owl or Bat were, or what they could be doing now.

"You were enever here to tell, so you can't blame me." Vixen meowed, scanning him.
Nightmare flicked Holmes shoulder with her tail, not sure what else she could do.

"You could've looked for me. You could've sent someone to find me. You could've done a number of things." ShadowSpecter reasoned. "I thought...I thought you cared. For me. But I guess I was wrong."

[~Stormy~]

"No! I do Shadow." Vixen's eyes widened, panicked for once. "While being pregnant, giving birth, and having to care for the kits I had no time! And no one was ever around to send for you!" She explained, words tumbling out in a rush.
