WildPaw hummed loudly to herself as she mixed a poultice of crushed juniper berries, powdered ajawin seeds, aloe juice, ground aspin bark, blessed thistles, and several other herbs whose names she'd forgotten. But she remembered what they looked, were used for, and smelled like, even though she'd forgotten their names, so she could still make the cure to the elder PigEars' stifness even though her mentor wasnt here to instruct her. She wrapped a maple leaf delicately around the joint reliever poultice and padded unhurriedly to the elder's den to drop it off with one of the apprentices, who would have the unlucky job of rubbing it all over PigEars. WildPaw gave her million-shades-of-gray pelt a quick cleaning that didnt do much of anything to smooth her wild ruffled fur, then glanced around. If DappledKit or JeweledKit or someone were around to play with, she'd just yowl with joy. This day had been GREAT so far! ((Any apprentice.))

DappledPaw bounded after WildPaw. "What are you doing?" Asked a musical voice. She looked at what she was doing, confused.

True to her earlier thoughts, WildPaw yowled happily as DappledPaw came into sight. Several cats glanced at her in alarm, wondering if they were being attacked by another clan or something. "Just dropping off a poultice for PigEars' aching joints. Stiff old bone bag..." She giggled. "What have you been up to?"

DappledKit giggled slightly at her yowl. "Nothing much really. The territory is so cool! I can't wait until i learn to hunt and fight!" She meowed. Her voice filled with curiousity at her next question. "Why did you want to be medicine cat? I know it's important, but warrior is so cool! And i want kits, it would be hard to go without."

"Huh. I dont like fighting. I couldnt ever patrol the borders for fear of running into an enemy patrol and having to hurt another cat. Though kits would be fun... but I suppose I'll have to be content watching your's grow up instead of my own. Or maybe..." She paused, "Or maybe, because our clan embraces AbyssClan and all, I'll be able to have kits, since we arent following any other rules either." WildPaw trailed off, mischeif lighting her grayish eyes. "So you wanna put mouse bile in the warriors' den and see how they react tonight when they come home?"

Instead of Jeweledpaw, Harpsong sauntered over to the pair of apprentices. "Wildpaw, Dappledpaw." She greeted warmly. She sat down beside them, her long tail curling neatly over her paws. "Having kits would be wonderful." She meowed, her voice in a sweet soprano tone. "Although, I doubt I could ever find the perfect tom." She sighed, but mischief filled her eyes.

"Maybe we can snag toms from the other clans? Our own clan wouldnt care if we did. The toms are the ones who would get into trouble!" WildPaw giggled, "You two should go out and pick the strongest warriors from the other clans with the best genes. Then your kits will be awesome!"

DappledPaw's eyes flashed with pain. She quickly pushed it away. "It sounds tempting." She lied. "But I don't know..." She trailed off. Her thoughts were on her mother and father. They were forbidden mates, and this is where it ended at. Her mother dead, her father just hunting and fighting with no feeling, and DappledPaw and her sister, kicked out of their homes. She knew it was for the best... she would have never found the friends she had now. But still, she didn't know if she could banish her kits to what she herself had to go through.

WildPaw didnt seem to notice DappledPaw's pain, though she did stop speaking to gaze thoughtfully at a red hawk circling high in the sky. It dove steeply at a speed that her eyes were too slow to comprehend, then rose again with a small marsh frog clutched in it's talons. She breifly thanked whichever ancestors watched over them that the hawk had been more in favor of frog than kit.

DappledPaw followed WildPaw's gaze. "hawks are so annoying." She meowed, trying to change the subject.

"I think they're pretty. If I ever have kits, I'll name one HawkKit." WildPaw stretched her jaws in a yawn, then lashed her tail as her previous idea surfaced again, "So do you want to put mouse-bile in the warrior's nests or what?"

DappledPaw laughed. "Sounds fun." She meowed.

"Fun?" Harpsong's musical voice cut through. "Not in the least, Dappledpaw. I remember having to do that when I was in Natureclan. I didn't mind helping out but the mice bile I could for surely do with out." She smiled playfully as she sat up.

WildPaw blinked once in mild annoyance. "So what else is there to do around here? Any moss-gathering duties I can help you warrior apprentices out with? Hunting, perhaps?"

DappledPaw shook her head. "Nope I did that this morning." She meowed, going onto her back and watching the sky boredly.

"You two are quite boring for my taste." Harpsong meowed as she licked her forepaw. "I'm going off to find myself something to toy with... perhaps a tom." She meowed, a sly smile creeping upon her delicate face.
