A Strange Kit

PrismFur was collecting the little green shoots of chervil that were coming up next to a thunderpath in SpectrumClan territory. She hummed to herself as she worked, pausing when she heard the distressed mew of a kit. She raised her head, looking around, then saw three Rogues crashing through the bushes, each with a kit in it's jaws.
Within a second, PrismFur knew that the kits had been stolen and that the Rogues werent going to do anything good with them.
With a growl and no thought for her own safety, the she-cat sprang onto the thunderpath after them.
They turned in surprise when they heard her and that was all the advantage PrismFur needed. She grabbed one of the kits right out of the jaws of the biggest Rogue, a tom, and sprang away, racing as fast as she could into her own territory.
She pricked her ears for sound of pursuit and quickened her pace when she heard paw steps right behind her. She glanced back and saw the black Rogue tom chasing after her.
When she looked forward again, she saw, across a busy thunderpath, her clan mate, SourBite. Confusion registered on his face when he saw her panicked dash towards him.
PrismFur skidded to a halt in front of the path; a huge red monster whizzed by her.
The Rogue skidded to a stand-still behind her, crashing into her and unintentionally throwing her out onto the thunderpath.
She only had time to toss the kit at SourBite before a monster whizzed over her, killing her instantly and painlessly.

SourBite froze in shock. The Rogue turned and ran when it saw SourBite's broad shoulders and dangerous fangs, but the retreating Rogue didnt change the fact that PrismFur had just been run over by a monster. SourBite waited for a break in the monsters zooming past before making a break for PrismFur's body and grasping it in his jaws. He carried her back to the dirty grass at the side of the thunderpath and wondered how he was supposed to carry the tiny newborn kit and PrismFur at the same time.
He picked up the kit, resolving to go back for PrismFur after he dropped the kit off at camp. It was shivering and mewing for food; he doubted it could survive long without food.

Bronzecloud and Fawnspots were out hunting, when the rank smell of monster and blood crashed into them. FawnSpots wrinkled her nose, "This way." She meowed, uncertainty tainted her voice.

Bronzecloud quickened his pace as he picked up the scent of his mate. Nerves pricked his paws, at every step. He scented rouges, as well as his clanmate, Sourbite. His pace became a run, his eyes widened in dread and shock as he saw his dead mate. Her body bloody and unmoving. He bit back a yowl, and pressed his face into her fur. "Prismfur..." He choked.

Fawnspots stood a foxlength away, unmoving. Her eyes wide. How could this have happened?

SourBite was making his way back for PrismFur's body when he saw his mate and BronzeCloud standing beside the dead she-cat.
He silently went over to stand beside FawnSpots...

GeodeSoul had been hunting, and at the forest of love with the returned SummerLeaf when he came across the group "Not PrismFur too." he said softly his eyes shadowed with grief still from the death of much of his family CHalkPaw had been hunting with him and came in after him "Mama?" he asked softly walking up to shove his nose in PrismFur's fur

Fawnspots watched the scene, greif heavy in her heart. "What happened?" She meowed quietly, glancing at Sourbite.

"Just putting things together I'd say she took this kit from a the Rogue that stole it and tried to save it. She died when the Rogue pushed her onto the thunderpath. I already brought the kit back to camp... the queen that's caring for it named her TinyKit." SourBite finished, falling silent.

Bronzecloud gently grabbed his dead mate by the scruff, and began to drag her back to the camp. Tears fell silently from his face. His heart felt like it had just shattered.

Fawnspots watched, grief tugging at her own heart. "Come on." Her voice cracked. Her paws seemed to drag with every step.

CHalkPaw walked up and helped his father take his mother's body back to camp
